Murwangi Safari Camp is an area of vast cultural significance. Overlooking the Arafura Swamp, it’s one of the most spectacular locations in Arnhem Land. With special permission from Traditional Owners, Murwangi is now home to Outback Spirit’s new $4 million safari camp. Opening in April 2016,  Wastewater Australia tailored and installed a wastewater treatment plant for the amazing camp.

 

Murwangi Safari Camp is a brand new luxurious safari camp situated on the Arafura Swamp in the northern part of central Arnhem Land approximately. The safari camp sets a new benchmark for luxurious wilderness accommodation. The camp consists of 12 deluxe safari suites, overlooking a permanent billabong which is part of the Arafura Swamp, itself the largest wooded swamp in Australia.

The swamp is listed as a Wetland of National Significance in the directory of “Important Wetlands in Australia”, due to it being home to a vast array of wildlife. The area is a major breeding area for spectacular birding populations, as well as fresh water and saltwater crocodiles thirving in this habitat, together with water buffalo, dingoes, wallaroo and wild boar.

The camp has 12 deluxe ‘Safari Suites’, each featuring an ensuite bathroom, luxurious furnishings, air-conditioning and a balcony overlooking the stunning wetlands of the Arafura Swamp. Perfect for becoming fully immersed in what Australia has to offer, whilst enjoying luxury living.
